3 bedroom, one bathroom
Paint peeling but it was slabbed
on so thick It could count
as insulation.
Pilling carpet and loose threads.
The gap between the door and
The floor so big we used a
My little pony beach towel
To keep the air out.
Closet sized kitchen and fake tile.
Window sills so weak they moved
when you leaned on them.
But the warm sun filled the home.
Casting shadows on the resting
Creatures of the home.
Resting was never a worry
Being home was never a worry.
Then we moved into a house.
A house that belonged to another
Family that loved things. They loved
So many things
Stock piled with dollar tree items and
Clothes that no longer fit anyone that
Lived in the house.
It was a house that had a lower level
No windows
No creatures resting
No one was resting
Worrying. Worrying. Worrying. Worry.
